Creating redlines

To redline a file:

  1. Open the file you want to redline in the viewer window.
  2. Adjust the size of the viewer window and pan and zoom to display the area that you want to redline.
  3. Click the Redlining button or select Redlining on the viewer window shortcut menu. If there is more than one redlining layer defined, the Redlining dialog box appears from which you can select the layer on which you want your redlines to appear. Select a layer and click OK. The redlining toolbox appears in the viewer window similar to the following figure. Redlines on other layers are displayed in gray.

Tip    Hover the mouse pointer over the different buttons in the following figure to see the name of each tool. Click a button to display the help topic for that tool.

  1. Draw redlines using the tools in the redlining toolbox. Hover the mouse pointer over the different buttons in the preceding figure to see the name of each tool. Click a button to display the help topic for that tool.
  2. Click the Redlining button again to close the redline toolbox and save your redlines.
  3. Repeat steps 3 to 5 to draw redlines on other layers.
